I think one of the problems faced by most would be entrepreneurs online is that they don’t feel they have anything of value to offer at first and they lack credibility.  The best beginner business ideas need to address that and this one does. Most people who are promoting a home business, and mlm, a network marketing company or a direct sales company are all looking do do what?  Generate leads. The most important (and difficult for some) thing about these business models is generating leads. If you have no prospects to talk to you don’t have any money to count either. Right? Crazy simple, but very effective.

When I first started my online business I used a free blogging platform, why? You don’t have to invent the next Microsoft or Face-Book to start a hugely successful online business and, in fact, starting an online business is much easier than most people think. I’ve had less than 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur so I don’t attempt to be an expert.  But I have had experience with successful offline, more traditional, business model AND online business ideas.  There is a big difference between an online business and a brick and mortar business, depending on the online business you choose to start.  The thing that interest me most about a business model is scalability.  I like to ask myself:  Am I going to love this business if it is actually successful?

I’ve learned the hard way that not all businesses scale well and when they don’t it really sucks.  So I would say the best online business is one that scales, for sure.  Another important element to me when choosing the best online business is how much work will be require to maintain the business.  This question can be answered many times by analysing the systems in place that turn the busines idea into a real online business.  For example, if you start an online business by writing web content for people, it will be difficult to get paid if you decide to stop writing, it isn’t much of a business model.  It is a decent self-employment model and some people do well with it.

The Internet is wonderful, in that it creates so many possibilities to implement ideas and that creates a ton of opportunity.  Lets go back to the example of the article writing online business.  Let’s say that same person who enjoys writing article decided to write some article and create a website with those articles.  Then our aspiring author contacted some folks who might sell products or services that relate to those articles and invited them to consider advertising on his new site.  This is one way to create an online business out of skill you might already possess and the Internet makes this possible. I’ve done it several times.

I would say the best online business ideas are ones that let you do just that, turn a skill you already have or can acquire into a business system that allows you to get paid over and over.  While this might sound easy, it really isn’t.  First off it is difficult to do something, especially in the beginning, that you don’t know will work.  There is a big difference in writing 10 articles for $100 and writing ten articles and then posting them to a website. You have to learn how to set a website up, you have learn what a good “niche” to write about would be from a commercial standpoint, then you have to learn how to get traffic to your website.  All this has to be done before you’ll earn a penny, and that is difficult for people who may not have attempted it before. The good thing is it is easy to learn these things very quickly today, I found a membership site the other day that teaches this stuff in a brilliant way.  I’ve essentially came to the point on my own where I do most of what they teach, but it took me over 3 years to do it.

Actually if you looking for the best online business, the one I just described has many different names and nuances, but I’m telling you from personal experience it is one of the best online businesses to start for a lot of reasons.  If you want an online business that you can create a significant, recurring income with that will pay you bills and then some, it is a great business model.  Back in 2004 I started looking for the best way to start an online business and creating blogs or websites that earn money is a major component of that business today.

Knowing what is the best online business for a beginner should take several important factors into consideration, here are a few of them.  First off you probably don’t have a whole lot of money to risk when your first starting out, so don’t.  It’s unlikely that first business a young entrepreneur tries will end being the “jackpot” business idea of the century, so don’t try to become Donald Trump overnight. Create a realistic, but meaningful, goal and stick to it untill you’ve realized your goal.  One of my early goals was to create an online business that earns $3,000 per month in a very passive way.  I didn’t care how hard I had to work in order to create that business, I just wanted to know that once I did the work the business would continue to pay me over and over, month after month.  I figured if I could meet that income goal with my online business I would have the “breathing room” I need to make good decisions and take advantage of more opportunities as they arose.  That was my goal, it meant something to me and it was a compelling goal to.  That goal inspired me to work, a lot, and I knew it would be worth it. The best online business, or any business for that matter, for a beginner to start is one that can create a compelling result worth working hard for.  I’ve been the “business opportunity” bit too,  while I don’t recommend it and didn’t have directly favorable experience, it did help me clarify what I wanted out of the business I started.  It helped me to define my “best online business”, so to speak.   I wanted what these business opportunity recruiter were selling, which was basically just time and money.  At that point I had had both, but never at the same time.  It seemed like I worked 90 hours a week and it didn’t matter if I have $150,000 in the bank.  And when I had a lot of time, usually in the winter, I was broke.

Choosing the Best Online Business

Another good point to make about choosing the best online business to start is to say:  Make sure you start a business that you are truly passionate about and interested in.  The chasing money game never turns out well.  When you are deciding what type of business you are going to start online, make sure you have  a deep seated reason for starting it.  For many people, myself included, the result that the business will create is the where the passion comes in.  When I started building websites that make money every month I could have started some in the home security niche, there was a ton of money to be made in that niche.  But I had no real interest in the topic so I picked something else I was interested in and I’ve actually earned more money because of it.

Every few months or so I talk about some of best at home business ideas people are using to start a small home business and I wanted to put one together for 2012.  I started my at home business several years ago, actually it was 2006.  I’ve had some ups and downs both in terms of revenue and enthusiasm and it’s a safe bet you may experience the same thing.  That’s why it is important to take your time when you are decided what the best business idea is for you personally.  Having a genuine interest, or better yet, passion for your industry or business model is crucial to sticking it out through tough times.  I’ve written an article on what I feel the best home based business model is you can read and learn about the small home business model I use.

At Home Business Ideas

Over the years of researching at home businesses I’ve found most fit into a few categories.

1. Direct Sales
2. Network Marketing
3. Affiliate Marketing
4. Web Publishing
5. Franchise Ideas

While there are certainly more types of at home business ideas, these five cover a large majority.  By the way,  most any at home enterprise I consider to be one of the best is going to be web-based. I just feel that the leverage the Internet offers creates the best opportunities when it come to start ups.  I live in a rural area and I see revenues from all over the world, literally.  I couldn’t begin to do that with a traditional business model unless I had hundreds of thousands of dollars to invest.  I was able to start my home based business online for less than a hundred dollars.  And the expenses are ridiculously low and will remain that way.

Let’s do a quick break down of those five industries starting with Direct Sales, which is really just a home based direct sales job.  A parent company does all the heavy lifting like product creation, shipping, order fulfillment, etc.  You ad value and thus make money by prospecting and connecting customers with these products.  Many direct sales opportunities pay well even offering commission as high as 70%.  If you like sales and you want to start a small home based business ideas  you can do that with a direct sales business idea with very little out of pocket capital to get started. The second on the list is Network Marketing which is also referred to as MLM.  Network marketing is probably one of the most popular low cost business ideas and some have grown to make a lot of money with them.  Network marketing is a people business.  You recruit and develop a network of people who both purchase and sell products to end customers.  Most experts claim it takes 3 to 5 years to establish a good income with a network marketing opportunity.  There are thousand of these opportunities to choose from that sell all sorts of products from health items to food, and even energy. Affiliate marketing is much like direct sales and network marketing but with a twist.  Online most affiliate marketers create a  website that is specific to a certain niche then they build an audience at the website and promote other people products in the audiences interest group.  Many of the largest retailers today have an affiliate program, Amazon is one of the largest retailers who offers an affiliate program.  You can be an affiliate of both physical product and digital products.  Often the digital products are training type courses and they can have great commissions. Web publishing is another great at home business idea if you want to start a small home based business but don’t want to invest a lot of start up capital.  A web publishing business also can work well with affiliate marketing, direct sales and network marketing…. It all depends on what type of website or newsletter you want to publish.  The home business model I use incorporates all of these ideas together.  While I don’t currently do any network marketing or own an at home franchise idea, I would have a great platform for success because of some of the websites that I’ve published.  Web publishing is fun and can be quite passive when done correctly.  Revenue is earned via advertisers along with commissions from affiliate products.

The last idea I mentioned was home business franchise ideas.  I wrote an article about franchises, what to look for and I gave some history on the franchise business model.  If you want to learn more about at home franchise ideas you should check on that article.  Some home based franchises do have higher start up requirements but you often get more of a business model when you start a franchise.  There are many consulting type franchise ideas and some that are service based for 2012.  Not all franchises can be run from you home office so make sure you do your research.

Besides the five popular industries for starting an at home business there are many more service type business ideas you can start at home using the Internet.  They are dependent on the specific skill sets you have and also depend on what you really like to do.  I’ve seen several companies springing up in the Content creations niche.  People like writing articles so they sell unique articles for web publishers all over the world.  You could design websites, do Internet marketing,  could offer all different kinds of coaching too.  These are all some of the best at home business ideas because you can start where you are at. You don’t have to quit you day job right at first and you don’t have to have a ton of capital to start these business ideas.  Can you make money from home with these Ideas?  You bet, I do with several of them.

Making money now, or making money at will is an important part of any business.  Maybe you have a service you could offer other people.  A service that you get paid for.  I wouldn’t advise starting a purely service oriented business on the Internet (because passive is better) but having something you can do today and get paid for today is a nice option for a beginner.  Many of the best business ideas I’ve found online don’t earn money immediately, they take time to build.  Once they are up and earning they are quite passive and the income will continue to build if your willing to work hard.  Cash flow is important to any business and ways to make money now will help you with initial cash flow. You’ve probably heard of getting paid to take surveys and it’s one example of how to make money now even if you have no experience on the Internet. If you have experience as an entrepreneur in the brick and mortar business world but you want to start another business from home, then starting a home based franchise business may be right for you.  Home based franchise ideas have a wide range industries, from consulting to pet grooming.  I don’t have a particular franchise idea to recommend, but I’d encourage you to choose a franchise that you have genuine interest in you feel comfortable with. Network marketing opportunities or directs sales opportunities are also a very popular home based start up right now and will be one of the most popular home business start ups in 2012.  That said, they aren’t for everyone.  It seems everyone and their brother has tried a network marketing opportunity.  Maybe you have too.  The key to success in a network marketing or direct sales business opportunity is treat it like a real business.  That was always hard for me and I’ve never really found an opportunity that felt motivated about.  I do know several people who do very well with these opportunities and they all incorporate their opportunity into their website that also earns money.  When you start a blog that makes money you will also have a great way to connect with others who are looking for good ways to make money from home and they may find interest in you network marketing opportunity. These are 5 of the best home based business ideas I’ve found to be sustainable.  There are many more that may work better for you.  The are some of the best business ideas you can start for under $100, except for maybe the franchise opportunity.  That could come later.  Starting a home business in 2012 is a great way to diversify your income and make you less dependent on your job or another business.  I recommend starting a home based business in your spare time, it is a great way to hedge risk and make it more stress free start up.  Starting an online business in 2012 is a great way for  a beginner to get started as an entrepreneur. I believe there there is literally endless opportunity online and wish you the best in your entrepreneurial ideas in 2012.

2011 was an interesting year for me and I was able to test several entrepreneurial ideas that I had been thinking about for some time.  Not just new businesses but also some business and financial principles that are personally relevent to me.  The path to building the best home business has been a game of trial and error for me, but the process has become much more productive as I move along.

I started my home business idea several years ago and my home business happens exclusively online.  Really I guess you could say it is an Internet business as it could surely not happen without the Internet.  The Internet business and a more traditional business working together is where I learned (through experience) first hand about  an entrepreneurial idea I had suspected was a solid financial principle as well.

Over the last several years I’ve slowly learned how to build a passive income online, in the past year or so this online income has grown to pay most of my bills and I’ve enjoyed the time freedom it allows me.  Granted it still takes work, but I do have a significant amount of control over how I spend my time, and I like that.  Who wouldn’t, right?

During the course of turning my online entrepreneurial venture into a reality I became quite detached from the traditionall business world and kind of missed working with people.  I wanted to start another business that would allow me to stay engaged with people and expose me to further opportuntities so I started a Farm Market here in my local community.

Just to clarify: If you want to create passive income, don’t start a farmers market!

Anyway, the Michigan farmers market that I started required some capital, not a lot, but some.  So I was able to borrow some from a friend and then I decided to invest some of my own money from my home business online.  This is where the learning came in.

I’ve decided to make it a personal financial principle of mine not to use income or capital fomr a passive income source to fund a non-passive income source.  It doesn’t fit when you have a passive income goal like I do.

There is always more to the story and I do believe the market will will do very well in the future and it did enable me to meet lots of interesting folks and it also exposed me to new opportunities.  Here are a few of my top entreprenuerial ideas of 2011:

1. Keep passive income building or invest it in other passive income business ideas.
2. Starting a business online was the smartest thing I’ve ever done.
3. Always look for new opportunity, it is there.
4. If you aren’t being exposed to new opportunities, then start a simple business.
5. If you can outsource activities in an online business that is 90% passive Do it.

My Title: ” What’s the Best Small Business to Start in 2011, for 2012” is partly a question and partly an answer to an email I received last week, an email that is quite frequent in varied ways.  I have several people ask via comments on this website, email, and telephone calls what the best way to start a home business is, or they might ask what is the best small business to start right now. It’s almost like having someone ask what the hottest band is right now or the best CD to buy at virgin.

Let’s face it we are in the age of the “Start-up” so to speak.   Starting a small business today can cost as little as a hundred bucks or so and more and more people everyday are looking at becoming an entrepreneur as a serious option.  I don’t have an industry or specific franchise business idea, or anything of the like to recommend.  I like the Internet and business models that utilize the Internet to make money.  I’m always asked to put that in a box. It’s tough.  I wrote an article quite a while back that became very popular on the Internet, it was titled, “ The Best Business to Start for a Beginner in 2011” You can go read that and learn what I feel are some of most important criteria for deciding what the best business to start is given you particular situation.

Another popular article I read talked about the most successful Internet businesses to start and gave three examples. Either way you chalk it up you have to be forward thinking enough and patient enough to know that any business you start in the next few months won’t pay off for a while.  At the beginning that’s a pain, but it’s also what creates opportunity in the long run.  If it were easy, everyone would do it right?  I mean if you were guaranteed a paycheck next week, it wouldn’t be a business it would be a job, right?

Choosing the best business to start is often times more practical than entrepreneurial, I get that. …. And I’ve done that, I know how it works.  One of the things I always like to tell people is to think about what they really want.  Most of us want to feel successful, we want to apply ourselves and we really do want to achieve.  When you start a small business it really pays to think about what you want the business to provide for you.  Most of us are more than willing to pour our hearts and souls into a new business idea, but what are you expecting it give back in return?  Many business ideas will never give you time freedom.  For example, success in a service type business will usually only earn you more work.  Everyone will want YOU to do their landscaping or replace their muffler, is that success to you?

The business I manage online is great. It is specifically designed to do exactly what I  want it to do and it performs very well. I’m not exactly sure what you would call it or what box you would put it in, I’ve wrote extensively on what I feel the best Internet business model is online. I wrote another article on Internet business ideas that make money, it gives you a couple way to start making money online.

There are literally thousand of good ways to make money online, and I even wrote a post titled  “Step by Step Way to Make Money Online“…. Imagine that.  there are business opportunities that are packaged for people who already have jobs, there are small business franchise ideas that thousands are starting every month, there are literally thousand of smart ways to start a business in in 2011, but most all of them won’t offer rewards until 2012, so get started right away.

So you want to start a business and your looking for the best business to start for a beginner in 2011. I’ll say right off that being impulsive when contemplating the best business start-up will likely be a recipe for disaster and here’s why. As a beginner you don’t have a clue what your business idea will look like in reality and there are ALWAYS unintended results, complications,problems and opportunities that will emerge with any new business start-up. And depending on the business you choose to start, along with how you start it, will either leave you in a rough spot or space where you can capitalize on the best options along the way.

5 Factors for Picking the Best Business to Start

Starting a business is not an event (with few exceptions) and most beginning entrepreneurs tend to look at it that way. Granted most entrepreneurs spend way too much time in the business planning phase, but they are still planning for an event rather than and ongoing reality. Last year I wrote a post on some of the key factors to look for when starting a business for the first time, they included:

1. Startup Costs.
2. Resource requirements in terms of time and money.
3. The upside.
4. Is the business an area of passion.
5. The downside.

Far and away the most important factor in choosing the best business to start as a beginner is the downside of the business idea. Yes! What could you stand to loose should the business fail?  The downside is what will have the most impact on you as an entrepreneur and it will be the determining factor in whether you life to fight another day.  Listen if your just starting out on your entrepreneurial journey you need a couple wins under your belt, this alone is very powerful in creating a successful entrepreneur. Sure we learn more from our mistakes and our losses, but you need to be able to shoulder those losses and if your putting all your eggs in one basket and it gets crushed, what do you do now?

Remember the most important factor in picking the best business to start is the downside of that business. Start up costs and resource requirementsare probably a close second and they are obviously connected to the downside as well.  Knowing what the costs  (both fixed and variable) is another important step in the beginners start up journey.  Optimism is not an asset when your fleshing out the practical realities of your new start up as a beginner, though optimism is powerful, it has it’s place.

Another of the 5 factors in choosing the best business to start is the passion factor.  Most successful small businesses will struggle at one point or another and the passion you feel for your 2011  business idea is the fuel that will get you through tough  times.  Having a vision and goal of what you want to create in terms of lifestyle, money, and success is important will steer you to success, but passion is what will cause you to pick your head up and continue on when the unexpected happens (and it will).

The Upside in your business idea is the last factor I listed, though it will likely be the motivator and have a front seat in your mind as the most appealing factor in choosing the best business to start and the best way to start it, I get that.  The thing is, the upside of a business idea is theory at best during the start up phase and it is much more possible and intelligent to determine the actual  downside and evaluate the other factors first.

My Thoughts on The Best Business to Start as a Beginner

I feel that the best business to start as a beginner is a home based business idea.  Also termed online business ideas or Internet business ideas, a home based business idea more easily fits the 5 factors than most traditional business ideas. Home based businesses have much lower start up costs, they require less cash to run, they allow for a more flexible time schedule, and have a much lower downside.   The upside of a home based business idea is variable just like in a traditional business.  There are many home based businesses that turn a nice profit and many of them do it in the first year, which is almost unheard of in the traditional business world.

I do business in both the traditional business world and the home based business world.  Most of what I do in the traditional business world has to to with the commercial construction and food industries, while my home based businesses mostly consist of web publishing. 

Why I Love Home Based Businesses

Of all the things I love about home business ideas, I’d say the top is passive income.  Passive income make sense to me and creating on the Internet is the only way I’ve ever done it.  I understand you could start other businesses that have passive income streams, but most require a lot more cash than I’ve ever been comfortable throwing at a start up.

If your looking to start a business in 2011 I recommend considering a home based business idea as the best business to start as a beginner for these reasons.  Starting a business doesn’t mean you have to bet the farm or risk loosing your shirt.  Many home business ideas, some of the most successful business ideas I’ve started, didn’t require hardly any start up capital and the expenses are ridiculously low.

I think starting any business can be a little intimidating. Whether its a home based business idea or something as simple as starting a website or blog to make money from home, doing the thing your not familiar with can be difficult. Getting started is by far the most important step of completing any task and its no different with starting an Internet business in 2011.

One of the things that bothered me the most when I was a beginner online was knowing what type of business actually makes money online. I mean it’s ridiculous how many different ways you can make money on the Internet, there has to be a million Internet business idea you could choose from.

What is a Good Internet Business to Start?

At first I only had my experience in the traditional business world and that was mostly in just one industry. When I tried to evaluate different business concepts online I was often confused. In the traditional business world it’s pretty clear cut. If your in the service industry, you do the service and get paid. If your in retail, you sell a product and you get paid for it. Online it was difficult for me to determine exactly how and why an Internet business actually made money. I remember what is referred to the “Dot Com Bubble” and I heard that most business on the Internet in the nineties didn’t make money at all. Most of these were large businesses and used public funding and they are in a completely different class that what I’ve ever recommended here as far as the best Internet businesses to start.

Are Internet business ideas different from a traditional business?

I’ll list three Internet businesses that will make money in 2011.  While none of them are brand new in 2011, they are all business models that work with the Internet.  Online business ideas do the same thing as there off line counter parts, it’s just the logistics are different. In the off line business world location is important, not for the sake of location, but for the sake of traffic (and the right kind).  For instance, if you were to open a retail market with meats, beverages, produce and other seasonal items, you would want your business on a busy road in close proximity to a residential area or an existing successful retailer doing a similar (but not the same) business. Online we don’t have roads or building but we do have websites and traffic.  Online the traffic is key, both from a viability standpoint and a profitability standpoint.

Internet Business Ideas Must Do This:

All of these 2011 business ideas require the same elements for success which are interest, traffic, and conversion. In order to make any money with an Internet business there has to be an interested customer base who can (and do) get to your website or offer and they need to buy or click or download…. (the conversion)

Most Successful Online Businesses

There really isn’t a “most successful online business”, I mean, you could start a web design business, but if your new online this wouldn’t be a smart choice as it’s a skill based business and the learning curve would be tremendous. You would just be learning how to deliver your product and 2011 would become 2012… See what I mean?  Most successful small businesses have to add value and online this happens in a variety of different ways. Here are three online business ideas you could start in 2011 and be earning some money rather quickly, sometimes days, weeks, but certainly within a couple months you’ll be earning some cash. By the way online businesses or home based business ideas in general for that matter have a very low cost of entry and MANY people start a home business because of this one simple reason. Most quit, walk away and say that it’s impossible to have a profitable business on the Internet… And for them, they are right. Stick with, like I did, and you can develop a nice business that you actually enjoy and that makes some money. Here are those 3  internet business ideas, in no particular order:

Affiliate Marketing Business

Starting an affiliate marketing business can be as simple as writing and article… no kidding. There are people who use this method exclusively and do well, I know a couple of them.  I’m not suggesting that is the best way to start an affiliate marketing business, but some people do it that way.

What is an affiliate marketing business?

Affiliate marketing can be easily explained as promoting someone elses products. Basically you ( an affiliate ) promote a product of someone who created a product and an affiliate program and you get paid a percentage when someone purchases the product.  Affiliate marketing success is achieved through a balance of automating the process of promoting and getting targeted traffic (people interested in the product your promoting)

Work at Home Jobs

Work at home jobs are a viable business idea in 2011and many people who are just too freaked out about starting a business would rather take it one step at a time and do something that is more reminiscent of a job.  One of the top ways to make money on the Internet doing something I would consider a job is to get paid to write. Another 2011 work at home job is getting paid to take surveys. Be CAREFUL if you think making money on the Internet by taking survey sound good. There are several “shady” resources that don’t do much to actually help you make consistent money. Start a Internet Business in 2011

If your here and still reading and you’ve been wanting to create another income stream that will grow over time and turn into a full time income then I encourage you to start an Internet business. Before you grab for your wallet, or make the excuse you don’t have the time or money I want to say something….. I started my Internet business with Zero ($0) dollars and very little time.  Basically when I had extra time I would spend time researching how I could actually earn an income on the Internet. I wanted to generate a passive income stream of $3,000 to $5,000 dollars per month and I was willing to do the work necessary to get it done, I wanted it bad. It took me around three years of trying this and that before I found something that worked. Can I tell you how to do what I’ve done? Sure, and I have told a few people, mostly friends and family, but it doesn’t work. I get blank stares….  I’m not a teacher and people need step by step instructions, they need to see results quickly. I don’t have the talent to do these things. Not to start (or join in) a debate on what the best way to make money from home using the Internet is, I wanted to share a real, and maybe one of the best ways for someone to starting making real money from home. I’ve seen the same programs and ads that you have offering a “step by step way to make money online” and like many of you figured most of them were bunk….

So I wanted to share one with you that’s not….. Bunk, that is.

Concise Step By Step Way to Make Money Online

I’ll share a link to a simple step by step training offered by one of the top affiliate marketers today. He isn’t a guru, he isn’t make six figures a month with his website.  What he is doing is sharing a very passive way to earn $3,000 a month online in a relatively short amount of time AND he shows you exactly he DOES …. (his little system)

He uses product driven affiliate ideas mostly in his training. Companies like Amazon and such who offer you a percentage of earnings for sending traffic to there site. If your somewhat new to affiliate marketing, maybe making a sale here and there, I highly recommend reading throught the course and implementing some of Dans’ methods. They will work for a LONG time and aren’t dependant on the more competive strategies to make money online.

Trying to make money with product driven affiliate marketing from scratch is difficult. I tried and failed. Actually I’ve also stayed away from any product drive eanings and been almost exclusively a Niche marketer until recently. In October or 2010 I had my first breakthrough on product driven income online.  Actually it was just a blog post I did on a certain Infrared heater that started earning about $30 bucks a day.  Thirty dollars a day doesn’t sound like much, but it’s around a thousand dollars a month…. And it’s passive.

I’d say over 90% of the small business ideas I talk about on this site are really web business ideas that are low cost, easy to start and really quite profitable compared to other more traditional business endeavors.  One question a smart business owner or entrepreneur needs to ask themselves is ” How much will it cost to fail”? Not all business ideas succeed for whatever reasons and I recommend starting a web business that you can afford to fail at.

The thing with the best web business idea I can think of for a beginner is failing really isn’t a concern as you won’t have expenses that will drive you out of business and the nature of the business concept is fail proof.  Transition may be necesary but it wont cost you money and it wont render the time you have spent previous as wasted.  Try fitting most traditional business ideas into that mold…

Granted we can all learn from our mistakes but with the web business idea I’m about unvail (it’s really nothing new)  the things you’ve tried and haven’t work, almost always help you with the ones that do!

Most successful small business ideas didn’t start out the way they might look today and it’s really not different with home based web business ideas.  You have to start somewhere and that’s really the key… And where most people fumble there entry into the entrepreneurial world.  Things won’t be perfect at the start, they don’t need to be. Having some sort of a business plan is nice but plans don’t make money.

So what’s my top money making web business idea?

Start a money making website!

Oh… keep this in mind, you wont start a web based business with a website or blog and be making 10k per month, next month, like you may have seen advertised.  But there are some sound business reasons for this being your first step to starting a successful business. Here are a few:

1. Your website will be a hub for all the different ideas you implement.
2. It will be a launch pad for differnet money making ideas.
3. It will become a valuable asset over time.
4. It will allow you to launch other successful websites and earn money much faster than before.

Depending on where you are right now and how bad you want to own a home based business that make passive income these ideas may seem insignificant, but trust me you’ll understand over time.  I’ve started dozens of websites, not all of them are profitable to day, but some are. I’ve used about every “platform” I can think of over the past few years and I’ve spent (invested) a lot of time learning how to be successful in business and more specifically how have a successful web based business.

If you would like to be earning money as quickly as possible and ONLY learn the things you need to to in order to do that, I’d get some help.  Help? …..

Yep. I didn’t get much help, save what I pieced together on my own the first couple years and I WASTED a ton of time. To be honest It took me over 18 months to even earn over $100 dollars a month!!! I guess I wanted a home based business that earned passive income really bad!

So here is what I recommend you do. Go over and check this low cost way to start a website  (like this one) and lean how  to actually develop a web based business that makes money.  Doing the way they will teach you offers you more opportunity than you could possible take full advantage of even if your REALLY motivated (and love coffee)
