I would say the first success principle is the principle of work ethic.

Success Principle Number Three: Persistence.

Keeping an open mind and knowing when to take a different approach to achieve the desired result is another key to success. Trying harder is not always the answer and this is hard for people to accept.  Listen, everything in your life right now got there as a result of your best thinking and actions, right? Everything in my life right now is a result of my best thinking.  Thankfully I can change my mind at any moment and you can too.

Success Principle Number Four: Work Smarter and Think Outside The Box.

You would never leave for a road trip to California without a road map would you.  Having a clear goal is a lot like having a destination at the end of a journey. Knowing exactly what you want is a another key element to achieving success.

Success Principle Number Five: Set Clear Goals and Know Exactly What You Want.

Success tends to happen in small steps and a quantum leap from time to time.  It seems the quantum leaps can happen in our lives almost effortlessly, they are like gifts.  Doing the next thing, the thing right in front of you is your responsibility and the next right thing is what success demands of us.

Success Principle Number Six. The Next Small Step, The Next Right Thing.
